Organisation

SANIPLAN was founded in 1982, originally to provide consultancy services in the water and sanitation sector. Through the health significance of the Watsan activities, the organisation expanded quickly into other domains of the health sector. Over the years the portfolio within health expanded significantly and it is the main building block of services offered today. Since its creation, SANIPLAN has performed projects in more than 60 countries.

SANIPLAN’s range of services reflects priorities and guidelines as set by our international partners and clients' policies on international cooperation, such as:

• The priority of satisfying the basic needs of populations, particularly of their most underprivileged and vulnerable groups, e.g. children, women and marginalised minorities;
• The aim to create capacities and structures that are adequate, functional, environmentally sound and offer the best chances for long-term sustainability as well as positive effects on other sectors or the economy as a whole
